what we do best.

City Heights is home to immigrants and refugees from all over the world. It houses over 75,000 people who speak 30 different languages in only two square miles. The majority of the community lives below the federal poverty line.

We serve children from San Diego Refugee Tutoring Program & City Heights Runners.

Through swimming lessons in City Heights, and Bridge to the Beach with San Diego Junior Guards, we hope to instill confidence during a challenging time of integration.

Out of the Boat began working in Mexico in 2004 serving children from the orphanage Niños de la Promesa (Children of the Promise).

We now also serve other orphanages and communities in Tijuana.

We provide professional swim lessons, a summer Aquatic Safety Camp, surf camping trips, as well as environmental education to the children .

More on our Aquatic Safety Camp:

A 4-Week Summer Camp that equips children in water safety through rip current identification, rescue techniques, surfing instruction, & ocean swimming.  It also provides education on CPR & First Aid through the aid of organizations such as Cruz Roja and Tijuana Bomberos as well as environmental education and beach clean ups with Water Keeper Alliance Tijuana.
